The Internet: To Love or to Hate?

I am not a fan of the computer, the internet or anything that has anything to do with gadgets. But that was before, ever since I encountered problems with regards to my auto insurance, I have learned to rely to the power of the World Wide Web. This realization of mine saved me hard earned money (from gasoline to auto insurance quotes). The need to travel from company to company looking for the lowest available quote was eliminated the time I learned to surf and visit insurance websites.

My love-hate relationship with the internet started when I got involved in a car accident and had a real hard time dealing with my insurer. That incident left me confused and broke. I felt cheated because after all those years of paying for my insurance, I only got half of what I deserved and that is, according to the company, because of some technicalities I was not even aware existed on my policy.

It was during a chat with a mechanic that I learned that I can lower my premium just by going online and comparing quotes from different companies. Out of desperation, I followed the mechanic¡¯s advice and was shocked to learn that more than a few companies are offering a much lower quote as compared to the one I currently have.

And who would have thought that just a few weeks ago, I used to think that the internet is just one way to ease one¡¯s boredom? I never expected to be called a computer savvy for crying out loud. So to cut my story short, I found the perfect insurance company and the quote I feel I deserve. Right there and then, I cancelled my previous car insurance plan and started to move on. Right now, I am more than happy with my new insurer knowing that with just a few clicks on my mouse, I will be able to communicate with them and clear things out. No delays.
